My computer freezes after being idle within the first 20 seconds when you come back from idle. i have the hibernation disabled, cannot find any viruses, malware, etc. and i can not update java it keeps telling me there is a 25099 error.. something about upzipping core files failed.. went to help page tired downloading offline version same message.. what should i do. here are all of my logs

Run HJT Scan only remove the below.
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {02478D38-C3F9-4efb-9B51-7695ECA05670} - (no file)

All scans clean.

So do this! Go to Control Panel Add/Remove programs an uninstall all Java, If some unistall and others will not reboot and they should uninstall.

After the Add/Remove is clear of Java run CCleaner from the 8 Steps both temps and Registry twice or more till clean!

Then Download and install Java from here: https://www.techspot.com/downloads/6463-java-se.html
Decline any offered extras such as New MSN Toolbar.

Once installed do the below to cleanup more.

Download JavaRa http://sourceforge.net/project/downloading.php?groupname=javara&filename=JavaRa.zip&use_mirror=voxel
Unzip it, run it, to update chose Jucheck (Suns updater). Should report up to date!

After update chose Cleanup old versions. Give it a minute and after it pops up the log file you will see what it removed.

Then click "Additional tasks" and check "remove Useless JRE files and Remove JavaRa log files.

After that run Search for Updates again to confirm you are up to date.
After that run remove older versions again. This time the Log file should be empty.

Report back.

I will help you if you help me help you!

More info/details please!

Exactly what happened?

Were you able to uninstall all in Add/Remove?

Were you able to download the Java from Sun?

Can you download anything?

Or were you not able to install after downloading?

Were you able to download JavaRa?

If so did you run it?

If downloaded and you did not run it, then open JavaRa

1st. click Remove older versions and approve all.
2nd. then click Additional Tasks. Put Checkmark in all the below

Remove useless JRE files
Remove Sun Download manager
Remove JavaRa LogFile

java installed but computer still freezes...

java is updated and installed and older versions removed.. now onto the freezing problem... it freezes if you leave the computer for more than an hour.. when you go to get back on it, it us either froze already or when you get on it, it freezes within the first 20 seconds of use...

OK lets do some cleanups and alternative scans.

First lets clean Temps and registry

Run CCleaner http://www.ccleaner.com/download/builds (get SLIM at bottom no Yahoo toolbar)
Run twice or more on Cleanup temps, then on left click Registry then Scan for issues also repeat till clean. You may have this from the 8 Steps.

Run ATF-Cleaner http://majorgeeks.com/ATF_Cleaner_d4949.html Temp and Registry, repeatedly until no more found.

KCleaner ftp://ftp2.kcsoftwares.com/kcsoftwa/files/kcleaner.exe
Fantastic cleaner. (When installing uncheck Relevant Knowledge do not install)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The issues can and are likely found is in System Restore so do the below

Start-Programs-Accessories-System Tools-Disk- System Restore and create a new Restore point. Name it "Cleanup at TechSpot".

Then Start-Programs-Accessories-System Tools-Disk Cleanup
Click OK to accept C:
Select all Boxes
Then click More Options
Here click System Restore and OK to "Are you sure" and the OK to Run.

As this runs it clears all but the most recent Restore Point but it does one other thing that can contain infested files and a huge amount of disk space.

It clears what is known as Shadow copies which are used by specialized back up programs.

This is if you have the Volume Shadow Copy running which is the default.

Next...

Download ComboFix

Get it here: https://www.techspot.com/downloads/5587-combofix.html

computer still freezes...

I did everything except i could not repair all files from the registry mechanic until i buy it so it did not fix any of them.. but i think there was about 350 problems.. i need to buy the program but i do not have the money right at this moment.. but i did everything else and the computer still freezes after idle.. here are you logs you asked for..

No you do not need Registry Mechanic. Go to Add/Remove and uninstall it! It may even be your problem!

After Registry Mechanic is removed reboot and rerun the steps that found the Registry mechanic (likely CCleaner Registry Clean) and 350 problems and fix them all.

Run HJT Scan only select and remove all the below.
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Search_URL = http://ie.redirect.hp.com/svs/rdr?T...=Q405&bd=presario&pf=desktop&parm1=seconduser
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://ie.redirect.hp.com/svs/rdr?T...=Q405&bd=presario&pf=desktop&parm1=seconduser
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [HPBootOp] "C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\HP Boot Optimizer\HPBootOp.exe" /run
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [TkBellExe] "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Real\Update_OB\realsched.exe" -osboot
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [HP Software Update] C:\Program Files\Hp\HP Software Update\HPWuSchd2.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [RegistryMechanic] C:\Program Files\Registry Mechanic\RegMech.exe /H
O4 - Global Startup: Compaq Connections.lnk = C:\Program Files\Compaq Connections\5577497\Program\Compaq Connections.exe
O9 - Extra button: Messenger - {FB5F1910-F110-11d2-BB9E-00C04F795683} - C:\Program Files\Messenger\msmsgs.exe (file missing)

Now rerun ComboFix again as it had findings and we need to see a clean log!

Now before doing the below Boot to Safe Mode Networking

Go here and get and run FSecure EasyClean: http://download.f-secure.com/estore/fseasyclean.exe

Go here VIPRERescueScanner: http://live.sunbeltsoftware.com/ install and run.

Mike

computer still freezes...

Did all of that.. combofix ran until clean.. removed registry mechanic.. ran fSecure easy clean that did not find anything.. ran viprerescuescanner that found 3 threats.. it fixed them one.. i deleted the other too because they were p2p programs that was from kazaa a LONG time ago.. which logs did you need to see???

Always post logs with findings but ComboFix logs are now overwritten.

But how is freezing problem now?

Mike

It still freezes after being idle within the first 20 seconds of coming back from idle.. or it just stays on the screen and freezes..
