Computer freezing- video card may be culprit but..

About a month ago I replaced the motherboard on my computer and starting then I've had some pretty annoying freezing problems. Basically I think I've been able to narrow it down to a video card driver problem - I have an ATI Radeon 9700 pro - because when I uninstall the drivers and work on the basic vga adapters it seems to stop. With the drivers installed, I usually freeze after I load a few webpages or play a game for a few minutes (World of Warcraft, namely). I tried installing the latest chipset drivers and going back a few versions with my vid card drivers and that seems to solve the problem only temporarily. Maybe it's a combination of hardware driver problems- I don't know. I'm completely stumped here and would appreciate any help anyone has to offer. Here are my specs:

vid card: ATI Radeon 9700 pro
sound card: Audigy Soundblaster 2
mb: Asus A7V600-X
chipset: VIA KT600
CPU: AMD Athlon XP 2200
