  1. Last night i was running a game, running winamp, and broadcasting a live stream.
All of a sudden out of nowhere everything froze and about a half second of sound kept repeating.

    My specs are:

Windows Vista Home Premium (6.0, Build 6001)
    Default BIOS
    Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q9300 @ 2.50GHz (4 CPUs)
    8122MB RAM
    NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250
    No sound card.

Any help would be great. I don't want anything worse to happen. Thanks :)

edit: and directx and my video card drivers are all up to date.

Is this the first time or is this a persistant problem? Last night I was playing Command & Conquer 3 and I have played it many times without issue. But halfway through the game it froze repeating the same sound over and over. I had to reboot in order to free it up.

To see if all was okay I played the game several times on the same mission field and all is well. Sometimes drivers/games go bonkers without any rhyme or reason.

Let us know if this is a persistant problem.
