Computer will not boot up

About 2 weeks ago my son was on the computer, it was running slow so he attempted a system restore. When he tryed it the computer went black and then it cut off. I tried to cut it back on it displays hp intel (blue screen) windows xp start up screen then continues to repeat. Any suggestions?

I am no expert but do you still have the original disk? If so try booting from cd then when you get the option click repair. I think ( wait for some smarter people to verify that though ) If all else fails there is always the recovery disks.

Ya it sounds like your restore was corrupted, boot with the XP CD and attempt a repair. You may also want to run a scan disk when your able to boot as your HDD may be the cause of the problem.
