    Hi
I am new here and hope you can help. My friend has a computer that the power supply went on so I replaced it and booted the computer up was running ok. Turned it off. Next time she went to boot it up NO POWER. I have tried another supply and it works but have not replaced it as the power supply I tested it with will not fit in the case. I will get another one. But I do not understand how 2 power supply's can go like this. Help:confused:

Leave the case open and shutdown the computer and let me know if there is a green light (LED) on the motherboard and if it is lit even with the power off.

Then plug the one that is in the case back up now and see if it strangely is working again?

No Led. I just do not understand how 2 power supply's can go like this.
I know it will boot with a new power supply. But I am worried the same thing is going to happen when I put another one in. Can a power surge do this. Or do you think something might be drawing to much power and caused it.

Did you switch back to the internal and try it again?
