Computer will not turn on

:) I have an older computer that will not turn on. It tries too. I can flip the switch in the back and push the button on the front and sometimes the light will come on and the fan will turn but then it stops. I have checked all the cables, power supply cable, I even opened the power case and checked to make sure nothing was loose. I don't know why it will try to come on but will not. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

Amongst other things it could be a faulty psu.

Try a different psu. See if that helps. If it doesn`t post back, and we`ll see what else we can come up with.

Can I use any PSU? I do have another old computer.

Without knowing the details of your old computer. I can`t say whether the psu from your other computer will be ok.

Take a look at the psu in your old computer, and see what is says on the label.

If you click on the first link in my signature, you will see what we need to know.

Regards Howard :)
