Connecting IDE HDD via USB ide port

    HI all,

    First time in the forum, so please be patient with me :)

    I have a WD HDD with 80GB capacity, so far so good.
    I bought a cable that enable to connect the IDE HDD to a USB port. After connecting the HDD it seems that it is installed OK (according the "Safely remove hardware" icon in the tray). But I cann't see the drive anywhere, not in the windows explorer nor in the disk managment.
    When entering the properties of the disk in the "Safely remove hardware" icon and trying to populate I get status "unreadable"

    Am I missing something??
