Connecting two computers via LAN and wireless simultaneously

Hello All,

I want to connect two computers via LAN through a switch(1) hub. in order for these two computers to have internet connection do they require to have access to internet through the switch(1) or can it be individual through wireless card?

is it possible to host a database for some shared program through the switch(1) locally and maintain an internet connection through the wirless network?

I am not sure . But a router would be a much safer way to go> Hang in hear some one my have a better answer for you.
