I am a noob when it comes to computers. I believe I have followed the rules to this forum and am in urgent need of assistance. I noticed that alot of forums include the posting of logs. If it's not too much to ask, when I am required to post logs, i would appreciate some assistance on how to do so.

The problem is that my computer constantly redirects me to the website known as heavy.com and I have no idea how to fix it, nor have i taken any measures to do so out of fear that i may damage my system. Please see what you guys can do to help.

Please follow the steps in the Preliminary Virus and Malware Removal thread HERE.

NOTE: If you already have any of the scanning programs on the computer, please remove them and download the versions in these links.

When you have finished, leave the logs for review in your next reply .
NOTE: Logs must be pasted in the replies. Attached logs will not be reviewed.

The instructions for each should get you through. If you have any questions, please ask me.
The logs will be a matter of saving, copy and paste, included in the directions.

You will not be a "noob" when we get through! Because I firmly believe that anyone who uses a computer should have some basic knowledge and should learn how to troubleshoot! Pay attention- I love to 'teach' but I get pretty grouchy if my 'student' doesn't listen!

• If you have questions, or if a program doesn't work, stop and tell me about it. Don't try to get around it yourself.

• File sharing programs should be uninstalled or disabled during the cleaning process..
• Observe these:
  [o] Don't use any other cleaning programs or scans while I'm helping you.
  [o] Don't use a Registry cleaner or make any changes in the Registry.
  [o] Don't download and install new programs- except those I give you.
• Please let me know if there is any change in the system.

Heavy.com is a broadband entertainment website,primarily responsible for creating and producing largely comic programming for the Internet and features many internet cult video series.

I understand that ill most likely be downloading several programs. Will it be ok to uninstall these programs after this issue is resolved or are they essential to prevent such problems from arising again?

When we have finished and the system is clean, I'll have you remove the cleaning tools and the logs they created. I will also have you drop old restore points and set a new, clean one.

Important you do not do either of the above until I instruct you to.
