CPU compatibility with motherboard

    I have a Gigabyte GA-890FXA-UD5 version 2.1 and I have bought a AMD FX 8150 CPU. The manual says this board takes Phenom 11 processor being a version 2.1. With the latest drivers for the chipset I was wondering would my CPU and the Motherboard be compatible.

    Thanks mailpup I just thought there might have been a way round it.
    So my decision is to go down to Phenom 11 or update the motherboard

    Yeah if support for the FX processors is not listed on Gigabyte's own page then they are going to be physically incompatible.
