CPU slowdown and fast

  1. Hello there,

    i need help here i am, not sure what causing yet.
    here my problem.
    i have dual core 3.11Ghz and when i run high end game on my computer my cpu speed drop and back up it continue until i quit.

    what is causing this problem
    my c omputer spec is
    512 mb geforce 9600 gtx pcie
    AMD Athlon 64 x2 Dual Core 6000+ 3.11Ghz
    3Gb of ram
    win 7 64bit

    I don't understand.

    And how do you run the game, and check CPU at the same time?

    As a guess, its probably cool'n quite...which slows the CPU when its full processing power isn't needed.

    i have no idea howto turn off cool'n quite
    my mother board/model model made from msi k9n6sgm-v
    can u help?

    You can find Cool 'n' Quiet in BIOS.

    ok i check my bois my cool'n quite is disable
    but i have enable cpu/ldt spread
    and my mcp61pcie speread was enable as well sata spread

    I don't know what you said, but you should leave cool and quite on...its good.

    andsim do you experience slowdown in games because of that CPU speed problem? If not, leave it as it was. If you mess around the BIOS, you might ****up something.

    ok got another issue iu update my bios and downloaded msi software install it and work great but my cpu run hot at 76 c

    Well, overheating will cause the CPU to throttle back. Are we sure that wasn't the problem all along...?

    ok it could be the graphic card? one i had fall i hit my computer but hit my graphic card it went blank and was out it slot by a in'. can it be problem i do notices funny line
    what i do? it was dusty in there tooo
