CPU upgrade

    hello just joined this site after some info have been thinking about upgradeing my cpu at moment its running the amd 64 3500+ ,skt am2 940,
    can this be upgraded and which cpu can i upgrad to please any help :wave:

    Looks like the fastest that you might be able to use would be the Phenom X4 9950 Black Edition (depends on the motherboard and BIOS support from the manufacturer).

    AM2 processors do not seem to be available new now so you would probably have to search ebay or similar for a second hand one. With a system of that age you would most likely be better of investing in a new system than trying to upgrade it.
