CPU Usage goes to 100%

Well I did Registry defrag using Uniblue Registry Booster 2009. I don't know if it was this that started the problem but somewhere around the time my computer start running slow. My java started lagging when I would do anything with flash it would lag. Example: I would go to myspace with Firefox and with Internet Explorer both browser shot up to 100 under the CPU category in task manager. Also my System Idle Process is always 80-100 CPU. Can anyone help how to fix.

Uniblue might 'helpfully' offer to solve this problem (for a fee), which is kind of them if they caused it in the first place. I have no idea if Uniblue have any reputation - good or bad, but rather a lot of such apparently noble sites are in fact extortion rackets.

One possibility id that your registry has been modified in such a way as to defeat your protection package(s), and you have picked up a nasty of some sort. In your position, I would follow the standard malware sequence published on this site.

Sometimes this can be caused by a virus.
and about Uniblue software, i don't trust then.
