CRC Failed. Happens everytime

    Hi,

    Everytime I download something in RAR, I get CRC failed message while extracting. This was not occuring until I got a NETGEAR router. I've read that this problem can be caused by modems, so, how can I fix this?

    Is it the router?

    How is the router configured? Wired or wireless?

    Can you temporarily remove the router and run the computer directly off the modem? Try downloading a RAR file then. If the CRC error stops, the router is at fault. If the error is still there. It may be a hard drive issue. CRC used to mean Cyclic Redundancy Check with hard drives or CD/DVD ROMs

    oh sorry I forgot to mention that I tried downloading files directly using my modem instead of using the router and I don't get the error if I use the modem.

    The problem is with the router.

    Go back and redo the routers automatic setup
