Critical System Errors! in icon tray

I've got the same problem as JRowley earlier today and see many others have it too. Could use any help. Looking at my log file, not sure what's good or not anymore.

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

You`re not running any antivirus or firewall software. This is a huge security risk.

Your system does have some infections.

Go and read the Viruses/Spyware/Malware, preliminary removal instructions. Follow all the instructions exactly.


Post fresh HJT and AVG Antispyware logs as attachments into this thread, only after doing the above.

Just running avt and zone alarm fixed the problem. I am running Windows Defender as part of Windows Live One Care, guess it didn't catch it. I had been running Norton Systemworks on both laptop and desktop but had huge troubles when I renewed from 2005 to 2006 and abandoned it. Thanks for the assistance.
