Hi, I have a 1 yr old emachines et1161-05 running windows 7. Currently it is totally dead. No response when power button is pushed. No clicks, No whirs, No lights. Nothing. Power supply has been tested as OK. Is it a dead motherboard? bios? battery? CPU?
    thanks

How did you test the Power Supply?

Brought it into Best Buy service ctr and they hooked it up to a tester.

Conceivably it could even be as simple as a bad case power switch. Emachines have a bad reputation with respect to power supplies and motherboards. If you are convinced the power supply is good, I would start testing each component by trial and error. If you don't have another PC to test your components in or to use as a donor PC to substitute known good parts, then testing will be difficult.
