Defend from low level formatting

I not so strong in english, please no smile.
I have a HDD S-ATA on my computer.
Everytime I boot my computer I can enter in RAID BIOS.
One option in this BIOS is Low Level Format.
Problem = my little brother want to erase all in my HDD.
He did it once and want to do it again.
I want to learn hide this option or set some password on it.
Or what I must to do?
Please help me!

there is an option in the bios under security or boot up which gives you the option to set a password.

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

First go into your bios and select the security options.

Then set a password as per the options available.

Make sure that the password is set to be required always.

Then save and exit bios.

If you are not sure how to do this take a look in your motherboard book.

Now when your computer boots you will be required to enter the password you chose.

The only way your brother can circumvent this is by clearing the cmos which will require him to open the case.

NO! No no no no no-o-o-o!!!
I have password in usually BIOS, but I can't to set password in RAID (!) BIOS !!!
If I set password for System (not for Setup) then user can enter in RAID BIOS anyway.
It's different things BIOS and RAID Utilities BIOS.
Please help me someone who knows about booting computer with S-ATA HDD.

It would sort of help if you told us what kind of a RAID controller you have there..

Not many RAID controllers have a security option. If you can't see it in the RAID BIOS and can't see it in the manual and can't see it in the possible firmware update then it just doesn't exist.

If you can't set a password for your RAID bios, I'd threaten your brother with a swift kick in the nads. No excuse for you to tolerate that from him. :blackeye:

I agree if all else fails try the five knuckle security suite. applied rapidly and forcelfully to said brother if he messes with the computer.
