Delete files from a cd

Hi there I am new to this site I was looking for a solution to removin a file from a CD I copied it to disc in error and it will not let me delete it saying Access Denied this file is read only. I use Windows XP and have followed the instructions to erase file but I do not have that option when I click open.

Please could someone help me.

You can't delete it as far as I know but is its a CD-RW you could rewrite over it. :hotbounce
 
You cannot delete files from a normal CD. You can only do it if it happens to be UDF formatted (InCD type of thing) or a non-closed multisession CD. And even then the file contents will not be erased - just the filesystem is rewritten so that there is no pointer to the "deleted" file.
