Dell 1520 hard drive crash

I recently removed my hard drive and connected it to my desktop in or to scan for malware and virus. after connecting via USB/sata adaptor i rcvd alert that drive was completely blank! now what. i reinserted drive into laptop and attempted pc restore only to have it fail upon restart. An attempt at reinstalling XP with the reinstall disc leaves me frozen after choosing fresh copy.

looks like you need a new HDD, if you can give me how much you want to spend i can help you out. also do you live in USA

Dustin thanx for the response. I am in USA and I already purchased a new HD from newegg.com. Turns out I damaged my HD when I removed from laptop and accidently dropped it.
