You need to remove all power from the laptop, locate your CMOS battery and disconnect it (or remove it if it is a coin style battery) for 30 minutes. That will not remove the Admin /Configure Setup Password, but it will reset BIOS Defaults of Boot Order 1) Diskette 2)HDD 3)CD Drive and reenable disabled drives. That default boot order will be locked still by the password, but by then removing the HDD from the laptop, it will allow a boot from the CD Drive with the CDR version of the DST file from this Website and erase the eeprom, then reset only the Service Tag

The Case of the Deadman's Laptop (for Rustam_ or ? dell d610 bios password)

I recently became the proud owner of a Dell Latitude D610 PP11L. Here is how:

A male friend of my sister's died a few months ago and his brother got his new laptop. I heard about it because my sister asked me to help him with the password to the laptop. Until a few days ago when I first saw the laptop I thought she was referring to just the Windows password. I had quoted a price to restore the laptop. He (recall, the brother of my sister's friend) never got back to me and I assumed he just didn't want to pay anything, or fixed it himself. I also later learned that in the meantime he was shopping it around to his friends who said they would try; they all failed. My sister informed me that he was so disgusted he wanted to sell it cheap. When we met and I saw it boot up, I was somewhat surprised to find the so-called "gray screen" as Paragon calls it. Never seen this before. So I purchased the laptop with the confidence that I will get through it.

Shortly after starting my research I came across all the posts here regarding this type of password and the best solution is held by Rustam_. So here I am.

Service Tag: 6D5ZC91-595B

And the password is......

Thanks,
Dean

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

I have merged your thread into this main Dell bios password thread.

Unfortunately rustam_ hasn`t been around for quite sometime due to ill health. He has told me he won`t be around for the forseeable future.

Regards Howard

Thanks. I had read that in an earlier post, but I saw him online (he must have accepted my invite) this morning in IM and thought I would give it a shot

Hello Paragon33,

I read your web site but I got confused between methods. Ideally, I would like to use Rustam_ method. But if that is impossible when would one use the paperclip method versus the DST method?

I have a lat d610 and do not want to cut open the motherboard sheath. Does the DST method work here? I would like to do it booting from cd or usb drive and have disconnected coin-battery for about an hour as instructed.

Thanks,
Dean

If you are getting a grey/white csreen asking for a Password, that is a Primary BIOS Password- no matter what it says on the screen-and must be cleared either by rustam and his Password Generator or by the "paperclip" method. If the Bios is accessible, but locked by an Admin/Cofigure Setup Password, then you use the DST software to clear that type

To confirm, here is what happens when I power up:

1) Get a black screen with error message: Invalid configuration setting - please run SETUP

A few seconds later

2) The Boot screen with Dell logo, progress bar, bios revision number, etc. There is no instructions to press F2 and pressing F2 does nothing

then

3) The gray/white screen asking for System/Admin password and displaying service code-595b (like the picture on your stie)

The guy who sold it to me said he got into the bios and tried to change that password. I think maybe he did other stuff, hence the error at (1) which at face value looks like a hardware config problem in bios.

Anyway that is where I am at

Dean

When he removed the CMOS Battery, that resets BIOS to Defaults including boot order and Date/Time. That is the reason for the F1 Invalid configuration meessage. You are going to need to short the EEProm Chip to clear the password and the site has the instructions and the software for afterwards to reset your Service Tag

If someone else has access to your laptop, you had better have a serious discussion with them. That password did not come out of thin air

rustam_

I work for a large computer firm, And I repair laptops all day, the ones with admin and hdd passwords suck as you know. For each one i have to call dell and ask for the master password takes about 1hour per laptop. Could you please hook me up with the program or software you use to generate passwords, I would be forever greatful.

Let me know THANKS

dell passwords

I already checked out your site, its nice, but I need a way to get ADMIN and HDD passwords off. I found a master generator for the old 5 digit service tags but all my laptops are newer with the longer service tag. Also the HDunlocker program you have is not free and does not support IBM Deskstar drives, which is what i have the most of. I saw that there was a nother user rustam_ that can remove passwords, why wont he share his software or techniques

Let me know if you come up with anything

thanks

Hi Steve

The site does deal with admin passwords, but as for HD passwords then only Rustam can help, but he wont be around anymore, he sent me an email to say that he doesnt have the time to help out anymore as he has to many other problems in his life.

The AFF software is good but unfortuntately you have an unsupported model which just figures, my only advice is, if you cant get dell to help, then scrap the drives and buy them on ebay. It was free when I added it to the site, but they went and changed it a short while later, the link is being removed until I update the site later this month when I will include a list of drives covered.

Dell Latitude D610 BIOS Password

After checking the pinned post, i can't find any relevant help that will just unlock my BIOS, not delete the password.

The program latitude.exe i have tried does not work for me, and i don't have the time or knowledge to create a DOS Disc.

I was just wondering if anyone could message me the password for the ID,

4FFJ32J - 595B

If anyone could message me the password, it would be much appreciated. I'm off to work now but will sign on when i get back.

Thanks in advance.

EDIT; Sorry, i mistaked Inspiron for Latitude, my old laptop was an Inspiron. Its actually a latitude, sorry.

Theres only one person who has a program for giving you the password for a 595B tag and he doesnt come here anymore, so get off your lazy rump and download the DST software and make the disk.

This thread will be moved to the correct thread shortly....
