Dell Combo/DVD+RW Drive with corrupt drivers?

By huttond

  1. I have a Inspiron 1501 Mobile AMD Sempron™ 3500+ (1.8GHz/512KB), Genuine Windows® XP Media Center Edition 2005 and has a Combo DVD+RW drive and after watching DVD movies the drive is missing from the "My Computer " view and under the "System" it shows bad or corrupted drivers? Why does this happen? and this has happened twice since I have had this computer since December? What is wrong is it the drive? or the drivers? or the Movies themselves?

    Please help?

Contact Dell tech support per your warranty. You have a defective DVD+RW unit... The drivers for that device are included on the blue disc they sent you and also are available by download after entering your Service Tag... but usually the DVD drive is bad or partially disconnected.
