  1. I tried to turn it on but nothing happens so I I tested the power supply using the paperclip trick and it did power up and the fan was spinning .I then took the computer apart and cleaned the dust out and made sure all the connections were tight . I put it back together and it did power on and I was able to go on it . I shut it down and now its back to not going on when I press the power button.

I'm really not sure what's going on so any help would be appreciated

It is the power supply. The PS is not able to supply enough current to run the computer

Some Dell power supplies are proprietary. What is the wattage rating of the original PS? You might be able to use any ATX rated supply

I would say you could use a standard good quality 650 Watt ATX supply
