I'm a new member and a computer dinosaur who cut his teeth on the now ancient
DEC PDP11 and VAX series computers. That was back when 16k core required three boards to function (about the same room as the complete inside chassis of todays tower). Oh yeh, we actually repaired these monsters to componet level. You know, transistors, diodes, capacitors, inductors,.....etc.
technology overran me and I now need help whith my wifes DELL Inspiron 1505.
Tried to load drivers for a new HP printer, scanner, fax and had trouble getting it to take. Tried again and still no good. It seemed to go forever. After awhile I rebooted and got a stop
0x00000024) message indicated a bunch of hex addresses. Tried to boot up stand alone but the same stop message appeared again.
Tried to boot (BIOS)and check drive bootup sequence, but it required me to put in a password or admin. Is there a default password for thyis? I do not recall ever setting one? Any suggestions??
