Desktop Shortcuts Dont Work Until Reboot

Occasioanlly, none of my desktop shortcuts work unless I restart. This is annoying.

Any idea why this happens?

What operating system do you use?
How much installed RAM do you have?
What browser and version do you use?
Do you get any error message when the shortcut 'doesn't work?
Do the same, particular shortcuts fail each time?
Are the shortcuts on the desktop itself or in the Quick Launch toolbar?
What kinds of shortcuts are you referring to?
What are you doing at the time the shortcut won't work?
Do you have multiple Windows open or multiple programs active?

These are all basics that you should know when asking for help!
1. Describe the problem.
2. State what you are doing at the time of the problem
3. Report any error message.
4. Give information about the system you use to include OS, RAM, browser at least.
