Device manager dosen't recognise c drive

My computer sees c & d drive but when I look for it in device manager only the plug n play devices are there. Am trying to upgrade from vista to windows 7 & because the system can't see c drive the install won't work.

Something doesn't sound right with your problem description

If you look in Device Manager under disks, you should see a list of the physical disk drives on your computer. Your "C drive" is a logical "disk volume". Difference being the you can create multiple logical volumes on one physical disk. (so you might have both a C and E drive on the same physical disk)

But aside from all that... what problem/error do you see when you try to do the upgrade??
