Hello
I can't get the internet to work on the computer that connects by the wireless. I'm using DWL-510 adapter that connects to Di-624 AP. The speed: 54Mbps, signal strength: excellent, and the status: connected. The activity shows that I’m only sending packets but not receiving any.

Microsoft Windows XP Home Ed [Version 2002] SP2
Description . . . . . . . . . . . : D-Link AirPlus G DWL-G510 Wireless PCI card (rev. A)

Usually never acquires a network address and it uses the alternate configuration which is set to:
IP Address: 198.168.0.165
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 198.168.0.1
Preferred DNS server: 198.168.0.1

Yet I still can’t connect to the internet which works on the computer connected to the Di-624.

Any help would be appreciated.

Do you have security like WEP or WPA configured? if so, is it set up properly on both the router and the card? Any firewalls on the computer? Does the computer work if you connect it via ethernet? Answering these questions could give a better idea of what is exactly going on, and could also narrow down the possible causes of the problem.

no firewall

I had it up and working until I reset the router. WPA is set up right on both computers. Ethernet works fine. PC Zone firewall on the computer connected to the router and Norton on the one connecting to it by wireless. When both firewalls are disabled, i still can't receive any packets from the router.
Thanks again.
