I just networked my two computers and they are both accessing the internet. My main one is connected to a broadband internet modem and then I just hooked the other computer to the main computer using a cat 5 cable. My question is...can I enable file and printer sharing without it beeing a security risk?
Thanks,

If you have a patched system and you enable the file sharing on the correct adapter then it is no problem. The correct adapter would the one facing your other computer, not the internet. Make sure you disable everything but TCP/IP on the internet-facing adapter.

Thank you for your reply. I have an external USB Network Ethernet Adapter between the cable modem and the main computer. Then each computer has an internal Intel Pro NIC card. So, your saying to enable file sharing on the internal Intel adapters and to disable everything except the TCP/IP on the External Ethernet adapter? Thank you for your patience.
