Did my hard drive die?

I'm receiving this error
"reboot and select proper boot device
or insert boot media in selected boot device"

The above article is very good to go through.

For a quick check, go into your BIOS to see if your hard drive shows up. If all of the connections inside the case are secure but the BIOS does not see your hard drive, that's when you might suspect trouble.
