  1. I have a Toshiba Satellite a205-s5000 that I replaced the power jack in. They sent me the wrong plug, mine was hard wired into the board so I cut and spliced the new plug to the wires coming out of the board and still no power. It has 2 red wires and 2 black wires, would it make a difference of which red wire and which black wire I connect to the red and black ones coming out of the board? Thank You for any help.[IMG]

So they sent you a jack that needed to be soldered directly to the motherboard and the original jack was wired to the motherboard?

They sent me a jack that just plugs into the board but the one on the board looks like a plug in but its soldered to the board so I left it on the board and spliced the new plug to the old wires.
