Digitizing VGA

I have been looking for a way to digitize the VGA output of a PC.
it's actually the oposit of a graphic card.


Anyone know of hardware that will allow hires VGA to be digitized?"

Why would you want to do this?

The problem is VGA is analog, and DVI is digital, so a simple adapter won't work, you need something "intelligent" to convert the analog to digital. It is expensive. Here is an example $400

I'm sure there are cheaper options, but I really doubt that they are cheaper than just buying a video card with DVI out.

basicly, what i want to do is to digitaly process the VGA output using a program like MATLAB.

since the output is analog, I'm looking for a way to simply "sample" the signal.
