no your looking at the correct card, and even on the box it says in the specs PCI express, but it does have an AGP sticker on the front of the box, and it does come in both AGP and PCI-e.

Anyways today I went over to my sisters house and tried the card in her computer. The card worked perfectly with her mobo, so I am at the conclussion that my mobo is too old for this card, or my bios are way out of date, and Matsonics website dose not seem to offer any information on their products anymore, so I guess my MoBo is now concidered MIA.

Anyways thank you so much Dragon with your help that you have given to me. as I probably would never have gotten this far with my video card.

Hi, Im From Croatia and i have the same problem with my ATI HD2600XT AGP. As you all i tried everithing with it, the newest drivers i managed to get installed where from omega 7.10. Even tried force installing lots and lots of other drivers but only 7.7, 7.8 worked for me. It seems like my mobo is out of date or not compatible with any newer drivers. I use a asrock K7NF2-RAID mobo. It uses a nForse2 chipset. What mobo did your sister have, and does anybody know what are the last mobos kompatible with the latest ati drivers.

p.s. Sory for bad english! :)

i have all the latest win updates,
    updated directx 11/2007 redinst.

    Thanks!

Any motherboard that has an AGP slot is compatable with any AGP card.
Your just going about installing it the wrong way.
Read your installation manual or download a pdf version.
Stop messing with drivers.Use the genuine ATI drivers that match your card.
Install them as directed on the website.I use only the drivers and not
    the Catalyst Control Panel.

Look, it isnt the firs card i instaled in a computer. I Know how an AGP port looks like. THe original cd with the original software DID NOT work on my computer. I Figured out (reading other forums, trying it) that any ATI driver above 7.10 does not work on my computer. specific on my mobo, even after a new bios flash. On my Older ATI HISX1600pro it was the same problem, and on the ATI HISX1300pro also, no drivers above 7.10 genuie ATI or not. THe only thing what worked was instaling older drivers, or the modded Omega Drivers.
Cos older drivers dont support (recognize) my new Sapphire HD2600XT AGP i have to force install genuie ATI drivers because it wont work otherwise... I had the best reasult and stability with The mentioned ATi 7.8 drivers.
I am not the only one with the same problem, there are others using the same metod like me and most of them have older mainbords with nForce 2 chipsets. Try googling it. I even sent a email regarding my problem to ati and still waiting for response. Hope Ati 8.0 drivers fix the problem....

I didn't ask you what they looked like.
I had problems with a Saphire version too.
The cd was useless but the ATI download installed ok
after removeing all the cd installed.

not to sound ****y but if your having troubles have numerous attempts, dont waste anymore of your time, I just spoke with AMD/ATI techs, and if your mobo bios are older than April of 2004 you will not get this to work if you bought this card for gaming. I was all sorts of issues and everything I threw at it, from this website, to others, to the support from ATI themselves, did not work, and it all boiled down to my mobo bios. I have VIA 82xx bios chips and all mobos I tried my Radeon 2600 in all gave me the same performance problems.

So my conclusion is, is that basically if you can not get this card to work, your best bet is to upgrade your mobo bios, and hopefully you will be able to get this to work proper.

Also don't forget to upgrade the chipset drivers. These are the most problematic cards I have ever seen
