    Hey guys check this out(a quote from www.ign.com):

    "...9.0 beta should begin sometime this summer, with a general release sometime this fall. Beta testers will be privy to all the latest DirectX 9.0 announcements on the private DirectX 9.0 forums."

    Seing as their final releases aren't always stable ( DirectX 8.0a anyone ), I think I won't be jumping on that train anytime soon. Once games require it to run, we'll have no choice, bus as for now DX 8.1 works fine.
