  1. Hi guys,
i was running an emulator the other day and it told it wouldnt work due to an error with the Direct3D.
it claimed i needed version 9.0c which i though was an older version and checking under the system properties i discovered i should have version 11.

i have donwloaded DX 11 runtime from the Microsoft website but was just wondering if their is a difference between DirectX and Direct3D files.

    many thanks
    James

This refers to the version of DirectX. 9.0c is XP and 11 is Windows 7. What version of Windows are you running? Direct3D depends on your video card type and model

DirectX 9.0c is a required install for some older games/programs that use it.

You need to download and install it, you may have to run the installer As an Admin as well as change the compatibility to be run as XP.
