directx9c.o adapter problems

What exactly is a directx9c.o adapter, and how do i get one. I'm trying to get my Sims 2 game to play on my laptop (same as it plays on my desktop), and it keeps telling me that it cant find whatever this thing is on it. Needless to say im getting pretty eager and upset. So, if anyone could please answer this question for me i would greatly appreciate it.
Also, please make it as simple as possible, because i am definately not great with computers or computer terms.

That's just a DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics card. The "card" could be integrated (built-in) with the motherboard or a separate graphics card. Yours evidently isn't supported by the game. That is, it won't run the game. It's unlikely that you can upgrade the graphics of your laptop. If that's true, then you are out of luck and cannot play that game on your laptop.
