Dirt 3 two player

Hi,I know that we can play Dirt 3 on split screen with me and my friend
So I was wondering that if one could use a keyboard and the other a gamepad to play the game?
Also is it difficult to play the game with a game pad?

I don't know about the split screen (never tried) but I think it's easiest to play with a good gamepad (360 pad) followed by a steering wheel kit and lastly with the keyboard.

X-Box 360 controller. Third party wired 360 controllers are usually really easy to make work with this... like something from Mad Catz.
