DNS time-out warnings

  1. Not critical, but what is the fix for these oft-seen event viewer warnings?

Name resolution for the name _ldap._tcp.dc._msdcs.domain.actdsltmp timed out after none of the configured DNS servers responded.

    Or...
Name resolution for the name isatap.domain.actdsltmp timed out after none of the configured DNS servers responded.

Name of server varies, but the "actdsltmp time out" reference is always there.

hmm; isatap.domain.actdsltmp is not a proper domain name in the first place, so of course it will timeout.

this one _ldap._tcp.dc._msdcs.domain.actdsltmp suggests to me someone is playing with creating a Domain Controller environment and has not created a valid DNS to server that domain.

SOLVED. The fix is to insert ISP domain name in the IPv4 DNS properties "domain suffix for this connection" field.
