Do I need to make a drive "bootable" before using it?

  1. I used XXclone to transfer my hdd contents from a 80gb volume to a 250gb one. After it was done it said i may need to make it bootable? i changed boot order and it seems to be working so far, XXclone said "this is the first incantation of windows after xxclone transferred the registry to this volume". Anything i should know before formatting the other HDD?

    Pull the 80 gig and see if you can boot.
