Do mobo have to use the indicated ram

I am looking at a motherboard on newegg ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ... motherboard so he can have his own computer?

You can use PC 2100, 2700 and 3200. The motherboard will automatically select the right speed.

Pc2700 should work, it will just make it run slower. If you'd put pc3200 in a pc2700 system it runs as pc2700(it underclocks).
