I have a friend that wishes to use AT&T's DSL connection for their internet service...
They asked me if they could use a router when they purchase one of the two lower speed plans from AT&T, because on their site it says that AT&T home networking is 5$ per month more with the 2 slower plans.

My question, is if they are just charging the customer that to rent a router? Or are they actually enabling you to USE a router with the connection?

Does anyone here use AT&T or know if they will charge extra for the ability to use a Linksys Wireless Router with their connection?

Yes, they allow you to use your own router. No they don't charge if you use your own.
