dos extender

Hey,

I am trying to put win 98 on a older machine which has a freshly formatted hard drive. I made a boot disk that starts the cdroms. When I put the Win 98 disk in it starts doing setup and then gives me a error message about the dos extender not avaiable. Any help would be great just trying to learn.

Maybe your bootdisk doesn't have himem.sys on it?

Download the custom WIn98(SE) bootdisk from www.bootdisk.com and use that instead.
