Drive division!

    hey everyone i have a slight problem doing somthin i need instructions. i have a 80 gig hard drive and i wanna divide it into two separate local drives namely C:\ AND E:\ but not partition it, i wanna install windows on C:\ AND INSTALL programs on e:\ so please help!

    I don't quite understand. Why do you not want to partition it? If that's the case, I'd just suggest installing windows, then creating a folder on your C:\ drive called "programs" and install everything in there. I'm not sure what good this will do, but...

    In Windows, the filesystems are tied to the partitions. You have to (re)partition your drive if you want to split it in two. Of course you can install drivers that allow you to use a file on C: as if it was drive E:. Or use a folder on drive C: as drive E: (the subst command).
