my OS is win xp home ed. sp3
problem is with a new epson workforce 500 all in one printer/scanner/fax.
I cannot get the epson to make a photo scan from it's platten. It reports: "unable to write to file" during a scan in all modes. The epson will print just fine. Have not tried the fax function yet.
I have removed the epson program in my hard drive and am attempting to start anew with downloaded drivers from epson.
When I try to open a new online driver (.exe) it shows the error: "the driver cannot be installed"! I have tried several drivers and always get that 'cannot install' message.
I still have the install CD for my epson all in one.
I appreciate any in depth/detailed advice
