Dropped Computer (CPU)

I have a post in the General Hardware section about a laptop that was dropped and now the monitor will not come on.The help over there was fantastic. They were very helpful. Can somebody tell me the easiest way to test a Cpu? The computer will not post. The hard drive light comes on for a second then goes right
back off.I I have also hooked up all the periphials externally.Thanks
