Dropped HDD, now it's seized. Any ideas?

  1. Hello,

    Just dropped an old HDD of mine now it make a noise like its trying to start but failing.

    Do you think the platters are seized?

    Any ideas?

    If your data is work $2,000USD call a data recovery company otherwise ***insert quote on the importance of backups***

    Luckily I've made a backup, it's just a shame to see a decent hard disc wasted :(

    It's not wasted. Open it up and get the Super Magnets out of it (I'm presuming it's not a small laptop harddrive)
