Dvd identity, need help

hi guys, i am new to this site and i am neither a computer guy...
my problem starts when i started to back up my files using my dvd writer as we have ordered for my pc (to be installed in the package) and all i get are damage disc due to the error "dma driver error". when i search for help in google which leads me here, i tried the solution from other post and check my system device manager and all i got is this identification about my dvd drive...HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GH22LS50. then now i began to wonder what this means because in the delivery receiot it is stated there DVD Writer LG w/ lightscribe.

my question now, is my dvd drive a DVD WRITER? that is able to burn cds and dvds?
or it is just a dvd rom not a writer. are you able to determine this through my attached photo information?

What burning program do you use? I can see a lot of people on Google having very same issue while using Nero.

DVD ROM's are disks...HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GH22LS50 would be the model number, and it would be sold under the name DVD Writer LG w/ lightscribe.
You could try a different burning program.
