DVD playback audio problems

hi..can't see any solutions to this one so hope you can help.

I was playing DVDs no problem on my laptop but suddenly the audio has gone with any Player I try (Interactive; WMP; etc). I can still play MP3s and WMAs and normal system sounds...it really is just the DVDs that are soundless.

Video is great. no probs. any ideas??

I am using some dodge DVDs from Cambodia because I volunteering here but even UK/US disks don't have sound??

please help!
