dvd-r/cd-rw help

I went to control panal/system/device manager and saw that my cd drive is DVD-Rom/CD-RW... but when i put a dvd inside... it always automatically eject out... can somebody help?

If it can't read the media it will eject it. Perhaps it bad media? Maybe you're putting a +R/RW in the drive and it's a -R/RW?

wel unless your drive is indeed a DVD drive it isnt going to play a DVD. windows does sometimes get confused and put the wrong label on the drives.

If you remembered to tell us the make/model of your drive then maybe we'd be able to help you better. Just a thought.

Its Compaq.. LITE-ON LTR-16102B

A LITE-ON LTR-16102B is a CD-RW drive and will not play DVD's.
