I have burned a couple of home DVDs recently which will play perfectly on my standalone player, except that they will not forward or rewind like a bought one. The files have been varied (.avi and .mpeg) originally, run through VirtualDub 1.5 to put keyframes in and compress the audio track. Then they have been authored in WinAvi to DVD format and burned in Nero 6.
WinAvi breaks them down into .vob files of abot 650Mb, but when burned to DVD it won't even skip through by that sort of amount. I have searched the programs help files to no avail, has anyone here got any ideas about how to get them to scan or at least effectively chapter?
Before anyone asks, these are not copies of rented DVDs, they are files from mate's camcorders, from when we have been drag racing and to car meets. We want to be able to play them on DVD/TV instead of PCs, but don't want to do VCD or SVCD as some standalones aren't happy with them (mine for instance!).
