I have a Samsung SyncMaster SA100 which has a VGA male out,
I have recently bought a new computer which has a AMD 7850 2GB DVI - Dual link.
now.. as you can expect I want to buy a adaptor to convert the signal from the card to my monitor
my question is will this adaptor from amazon work for me?:

I would welcome all feedback, thank you

Yes, that will work. I'd buy a new monitor though, VGA isn't the clearest..

Hey Marty. This might help you understand DVI and other video connections a little better. I agree with st1ckm4n on the monitor, but if the funds are an issue for now or a new monitor is not a priority right now, I guess you have to use what you have. VGA is an analog signal and DVI is digital, so there is signal conversion back and forth which will cause some deterioration of the video quality.
