E:\ is not accessible

  1. Good day
    Hope you can assist, I am running win 2000 pro, My 2nd Harddrive has been ok but started acting up recently, It is not accessible this is the error I get, E:\ is not accessible, Incorrect Function. Any ideas what might be wrong.

    How about checking the IDEcable and power-connector? They are known to sometimes loosen up.

    Yeah checked all that and it looks fine...

    Some HDDs have a removable circuit board
    this board (in most cases ) is connected by fingers that are kind of spring loaded.
    when the board is screwed down it makes contact with these fingers.
    I have fixed a few of these by cleaning the contacts
    always a good practice to have the manufacturers utility program it sometimes will help find problems
